This is what was paid last term (incl. the six dollar increase). The policy last term was to have it in place for just one term. ExecCom voted to have a $42 tax this term as well. This means that you'll probably get a $6 bill in the near future to pay off the difference between the new tax and the one which you paid on your bursar's bill ($36). If you have any problems with this choice, please come to the budget study break, or see an execCom member before. thank you for your consideration aerobics note: This money is probably be going to be thrown into the facilities budget unless someone can be found to organize aerobics. =========================================================================== From: "Jeremy D. Sher" To: Victor C Lum Subject: Correction to ExecCom Minutes 3/9/97 Cc: everyoneatnext@MIT.EDU Date: Mon, 10 Mar 1997 02:43:52 EST Corrections to the UA segment in the minutes: (1) The decision has NOT YET BEEN MADE by the faculty as to whether to adopt plus/minus grades. We are currently at the end of one year of a three-year experiment, in which plus/minus grades are given but are "hidden." The faculty will review whether to implement plus/minus grades permanently in 1999. At this point, the faculty in general seem to be LEANING toward plus/minus grades, and students seem to be, in general, LEANING against them, FOR NOW. Students are not reacting to the "adoption" of plus/minus grades, but if you attend the meeting, *** Monday, 3/10, 8:00 pm, W20-400, *** someone from the faculty Committee on the Undergraduate Program, which is dealing with this issue, will be there, and you can make your views known. So we are not at the stage of "stopping" a decision that has already been made, but we can ensure that the faculty make the *right* decision by having as many people as possible put their views on this issue forward. (2) I seem to have been left out from the list of those in attendance. I was in attendance. - Jeremy Sher (room 275)
