in light of the postponement of the execcom meeting until
next sunday 10:30 in the TFL, I am making a few announcements
that would have been included in tonights minutes.

* ROOM LOTTERY HAS NEW   *
*      DATE!!!!!!        *

in light of the multiple protests from students and jon (nolan) we
have decided to move room lottery to Sunday May 4th.  I am not sure
exactly what times to set for each class, but the norm is to start
in the early afternoon with the seniors and allocate about two to
three hours for each class.  It will, of course, run long.  If you can't
make it, what you should do is contact anshu (anshu@mit.edu) and tell
her the name of your proxy.  See future emails for more information
Lottery numbers should be up really soon.  (oh and in case you were 
wondering, you can't bribe, cajole, or blackmail anshu into making you 
number one in your class - trust me :)  )

Running a successful dorm government requires more than the ideas and the
enthusiasm to get them done. It also requires an excellent staff of people
to help do things.  We still have had only one R/O chair application 
_request_ to this date.   VCR and country kitchen chairs are still being
sought.  If you want to help the dorm, or would like to see something change,
pick up an application from ashesh and get things done.

*  VARIETY SHOW PROBLEMS *

Norm has had one act sign up and another with a "maybe."  Needless to
say, two acts is not enough.  The show will occur this friday at 7:30
if and only if more acts show sign up.  Variety show will be cancelled
if more groups don't contact norm by TOMORROW, wednesday april 23.

If we get more acts, it will be held on saturday the 26th at 7:30
in the TFL. 


NEXT HOUSE SEMIFORMAL:

to be held on friday May 2nd.  I don't have the particulars right now,
but have been promised that anita or jolaw will be emailing the dorm to
tell you all you need to know - addresses, tickets, etc...


NEXT GAMES:

to be held on saturday May 3rd.  For more details, see your bathroom 
door.  basically a day of fun in the sun (or rain) with the dorm.  


WALK FOR HUNGER:

walk 20 miles for fun on May 4th!  see vern in room 341 for more details
and sponsor sheets.


ROOM LOTTERY:

We'll all be picking new rooms on sunday May 4th.  If you are doing
the walk for hunger, this may interfere - if you walk really slow. Most
people should make it back in time.  numbers to be posted soon
